Durastall Stabling Systems   Breeding And Racing Magazine August 2009

”For over 15 years, Durastall’s designers and engineers have been producing a stabling system that focuses on quality, useability and most importantly the safety of horses. The unique Durastall stabling system has fast become Australia’s leading stable panelling system, associated with champions, supported by big-name studs, and their reach continues to grow throughout Australia, and the rest of the world.

A look at the big stud names supporting Durastall’s Stables show how they’ve become the leading stable manufacture. Durastall has provided products to a vast range of thoroughbred studs; Arrowfeild Stud in Scone, New South Wales, home of champion sire Redoute’s Choice, are proud owners of 53 Durastall stables. Bylong Park situated at Hawkesbury Racecourse also bear the Durastall name on their stables. Leading Queensland-based stud Glenlogan Park in Beaudesert, has 28 stalls installed, while Banchory Stud at Toowoomba, has 19 stalls. More recently Durastall fitted out Tony Santic’s Makybe Stud, near Geelong in Victoria, home to triple Gr1 Melbourne Cup winning legendary mare Makybe Diva.

Their reach isn’t limited to stud farms. Nine years ago they designed and constructed stables for the Sydney International Equestrian Centre, home of the Sydney 2000 Olympic Games. They also servicing racing stables like Eagle Farm for Queensland Turf Club, who has 30 Durastall stalls, and the new 48-stall facility for Queensland Harness Racing at Parklands on the Gold Coast, Which features Durastall’s new ‘Easy Access’ machinery access panel.

A Durastall Stable is superior in the fact that it is manufactured from high strength steel and fully hot dipped galvanised after manufacture to Australian Standard AS 1650 (a process guaranteed to protect against corrosion). All welds are also hot dipped galvanised; an important factor as panels manufactured from pre-galvanised steel with welds protected only by paint will rust, resulting in poor appearance and deterioration.

Durastall has taken these steps to ensure that your stable will withstand the elements. For Durastall, the safety of your horse is paramount. This is why their stabling systems include strong stainless steel door and foot latches, as well as no sharp edges, to ensure your horse is safe and comfortable. Their strong, durable frames make a Durastall stable a long- lasting and trouble-free investment, well worth it when it comes to protecting your horses.

All of Durastall’s stables have been designed to be both free standing within an existing building, or fully integrated into a purpose built barn or shed, showing the stables are versatile enough for both large commercial operations and smaller farms. On top of the stables themselves, the company also offers a wide range of stable accessories, including their exclusive stainless steel rotating feed bins, which allow you to feed horses without entering the stable, and stainless steel rug racks & waterers to name a few. International interest in Durastall products is steadily growing, the company already exports to Japan and the United Kingdom, and New Caledonia’s Chamber of Agriculture were scheduled to receive a shipment of Durastall stables in early 2009 to complete their new stable complex”.
